1 A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to banking and finance; to amend section
2 8-102, Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska; to provide powers as
3 prescribed to the Director of Banking and Finance; to repeal the
4 original section; and to declare an emergency.
5 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,

1 Section 1. Section 8-102, Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska, is
2 amended to read:
3 8-102 (1) The department shall, under the laws of this state
4 specifically made applicable to each, have general supervision and
5 control over banks, trust companies, credit unions, building and loan
6 associations, savings and loan associations, and digital asset
7 depositories, all of which are hereby declared to be quasi-public in
8 nature and subject to regulation and control by the state.
9 (2) The director may prescribe conditions on banks, trust companies,
10 credit unions, building and loan associations, savings and loan
11 associations, and digital asset depositories, and their holding
12 companies, if any, as part of any written order, decision, or
13 determination required to be made pursuant to the Nebraska Banking Act,
14 Chapter 8, article 3, the Credit Union Act, and the Nebraska Financial
15 Innovation Act.
16 Sec. 2. Original section 8-102, Reissue Revised Statutes of
17 Nebraska, is repealed.
18 Sec. 3. Since an emergency exists, this act takes effect when
19 passed and approved according to law.
