1 A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to appropriations; to appropriate funds to the
2 University of Nebraska; and to declare an emergency.
3 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,

1 Section 1. There is hereby appropriated $500,000 from the Nebraska
2 Health Care Cash Fund for FY2023-24 to the Board of Regents of the
3 University of Nebraska for the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
4 It is the intent of the Legislature that these funds be used by the
5 University of Nebraska Medical Center to contract with an organization
6 located in Nebraska which provides comprehensive cancer support and
7 education to provide a statewide education program regarding cancer, its
8 causes, and the resources available to support cancer patients.
9 It is the intent of the Legislature to appropriate $500,000 annually
10 from the Nebraska Health Care Cash Fund for such contract.
11 Sec. 2. Since an emergency exists, this act takes effect when
12 passed and approved according to law.
