1 A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to appropriations; to appropriate funds to the
2 Nebraska State Historical Society; and to state intent regarding
3 future appropriations.
4 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,

1 Section 1. There is hereby appropriated (1) $250,000 from the
2 General Fund for FY2023-24 and (2) $250,000 from the General Fund for
3 FY2024-25 to the Nebraska State Historical Society.
4 There is included in the appropriation in this section $250,000 from
5 the General Fund for FY2023-24 and $250,000 from the General Fund for
6 FY2024-25 as state aid, which shall only be used for such purpose.
7 It is the intent of the Legislature to appropriate $250,000 from the
8 General Fund annually to the Nebraska State Historical Society to
9 contract with programs that provide educational programming and technical
10 expertise related to downtown or mainstreet revitalization, business
11 growth, and historic preservation to communities throughout the state.
12 The appropriation shall only be used for such purpose.
