1 A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to the Livestock Growth Act; to amend section
2 54-2804, Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska; to state intent
3 regarding a transfer of funds; to repeal the original section; and
4 to declare an emergency.
5 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,

1 Section 1. Section 54-2804, Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska, is
2 amended to read:
3 54-2804 The Livestock Growth Act Cash Fund is created. The fund may
4 be used to carry out the Livestock Growth Act. The State Treasurer shall
5 credit to the fund any funds transferred or appropriated to the fund by
6 the Legislature and funds received as gifts or grants or other private or
7 public funds obtained for the purposes of the act. It is the intent of
8 the Legislature to transfer two million dollars from the General Fund to
9 the Livestock Growth Act Cash Fund for fiscal year 2023-24. Any money in
10 the fund available for investment shall be invested by the state
11 investment officer pursuant to the Nebraska Capital Expansion Act and the
12 Nebraska State Funds Investment Act.
13 Sec. 2. Original section 54-2804, Reissue Revised Statutes of
14 Nebraska, is repealed.
15 Sec. 3. Since an emergency exists, this act takes effect when
16 passed and approved according to law.
