1 A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to appropriations; to state intent relating to
2 appropriations to the Department of Health and Human Services; and
3 to declare an emergency.
4 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,

1 Section 1. It is the intent of the Legislature to appropriate
2 $1,000,000 from the General Fund for FY2023-24 and $1,000,000 from the
3 General Fund for FY2024-25 to the Department of Health and Human
4 Services, Agency 25, for Program 33, Administration. The funds shall be
5 used for state aid to carry out the purposes of the Emergency Medical
6 Services Practice Act and the Statewide Trauma System Act. It is the
7 intent of the Legislature to continue such appropriations annually.
8 Sec. 2. It is the intent of the Legislature to increase the amount
9 appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Health and Human
10 Services, Agency 25, Program 33, Administration, by $150,000 in FY2023-24
11 and annually thereafter, for the statewide patient care reporting system
12 and trauma registry described in section 71-8248.
13 Sec. 3. Since an emergency exists, this act takes effect when
14 passed and approved according to law.
