1 A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to the Joint Public Agency Act; to amend
2 section 13-2508, Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska; to prohibit
3 new joint public agencies forming for education purposes as
4 prescribed; and to repeal the original section.
5 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,

1 Section 1. Section 13-2508, Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska, is
2 amended to read:
3 13-2508 Any combination of two or more public agencies may create
4 one or more joint public agencies to exercise the powers and authority
5 prescribed by the Joint Public Agency Act, except that no joint public
6 agency created on or after October 1, 2023, shall exercise any power or
7 authority relating to education.
8 Sec. 2. Original section 13-2508, Reissue Revised Statutes of
9 Nebraska, is repealed.
