1 A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to appropriations; to state legislative intent
2 to transfer and appropriate funds for workforce housing; and to
3 declare an emergency.
4 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,

1 Section 1. (1) It is the intent of the Legislature to transfer
2 twenty-five million dollars from the General Fund for fiscal year 2023-24
3 to the Rural Workforce Housing Investment Fund and twenty-five million
4 dollars from the General Fund for fiscal year 2024-25 to the Rural
5 Workforce Housing Investment Fund to provide workforce housing grants
6 under the Rural Workforce Housing Investment Act.
7 (2) It is the intent of the Legislature to appropriate twenty-five
8 million dollars from the General Fund for fiscal year 2023-24 to the
9 Affordable Housing Trust Fund and twenty-five million dollars from the
10 General Fund for fiscal year 2024-25 to the Affordable Housing Trust Fund
11 to finance loans, grants, subsidies, credit enhancements, and other
12 financial assistance for community affordable housing projects and for
13 expenses of the Department of Economic Development for administering the
14 Affordable Housing Trust Fund under the Nebraska Affordable Housing Act.
15 Sec. 2. Since an emergency exists, this act takes effect when
16 passed and approved according to law.
