This bill mandates a legislative management study during the 2025-26 interim to explore the feasibility of periodically reconvening sessions of the North Dakota legislative assembly. The proposed study will evaluate the possibility of the assembly reconvening for three consecutive days each month, excluding December, specifically on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, as well as for up to seven consecutive days each year. The study will also consider alternative proposals for these reconvened sessions and review the timing of meetings for organizational and orientation purposes.
At the conclusion of the study, the legislative management is required to report its findings and recommendations to the seventieth legislative assembly, including any necessary legislation to implement these recommendations. This initiative aims to enhance the legislative process by potentially increasing the frequency and flexibility of assembly sessions.
