This bill mandates a legislative management study during the 2025-26 interim period to evaluate historical health care mandates in North Dakota. The study will focus on analyzing current health care mandates, including their enactment dates, purposes, effectiveness, and relevance today. Additionally, it will provide a historical overview of health care mandates and step therapy protocols, incorporating input from various stakeholders such as the department of health and human services, the insurance department, the public employees retirement system, and insurance providers.

At the conclusion of the study, the legislative management is required to report its findings and recommendations to the seventieth legislative assembly, along with any proposed legislation necessary to implement those recommendations. This initiative aims to ensure that health care mandates are effectively serving the needs of the public and adapting to current health care challenges.
