This bill proposes the creation of two new designations within the North Dakota Century Code: the state waltz and the state troubadour. The state waltz is designated as "Dancing Dakota," a piece written and composed by Chuck Suchy. Additionally, the bill establishes a process for appointing an official state troubadour or trobairitz, which will be the responsibility of the chairman of the North Dakota Council on the Arts.
The appointed state troubadour will serve a term of five years, with provisions for filling any vacancies that may arise during the term. The bill also stipulates that the appointment of the official state troubadour must occur at the conclusion of the term of the inaugural troubadour, who was appointed by the sixty-ninth legislative assembly.
