This bill amends subsection 2 of section 23-27-07 of the North Dakota Century Code to clarify the types of licensed ambulance services that are exempt from the requirements for forming rural ambulance service districts. The bill specifies that county-owned, city-owned, and ambulance services that are part of a joint powers agreement with a city or county-owned ambulance, as well as those owned by tribal or federal governments, are exempt.

Additionally, the bill introduces a new exemption for licensed ambulance services that are owned and operated by a hospital. It also modifies the language regarding existing rural ambulance service districts by changing the phrasing from "pursuant" to "under" chapter 11-28.3. These changes aim to streamline the regulations surrounding ambulance services and clarify the exemptions applicable to them.
