This bill amends section 62.1-04-04 of the North Dakota Century Code, which pertains to the requirement for individuals carrying concealed firearms to produce their licenses upon request from law enforcement officers. The bill specifies that individuals must have their concealed carry license or a digital image of it readily available on their person and must present it to law enforcement upon request. The language has been updated to clarify that the license must be provided to "any active law enforcement officer" and that failure to do so is considered prima facie evidence of illegal carrying of a concealed firearm.

Additionally, the bill requires individuals carrying a concealed firearm to inform law enforcement officers if they inquire about the individual's possession of a concealed firearm. It also mandates that individuals must carry a valid driver's license or nondriver identification card, or a digital image of such identification, and present it upon request. Violations of these provisions are classified as noncriminal offenses, subject to a penalty of a twenty-dollar fee.
