Additionally, the bill changes the payment amount from the firefighters death benefit fund to the survivors of deceased firefighters. The previous payment amount of ten thousand dollars has been increased to twenty-five thousand dollars, which will be paid upon receipt of a request for payment and evidence of a line of duty death from the appropriate fire chief or their designee.
