This bill appropriates funds for the North Dakota securities department to cover its expenses for the biennium from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2027. The total special funds appropriated amount to $3,388,330, which includes base level enhancements for salaries and wages, as well as adjustments to operating expenses. The bill also establishes a new and vacant FTE pool, allowing the securities department to request transfers from this pool to the salaries and wages line item, although it cannot spend these funds directly.

Additionally, the bill amends subsection 8 of section 10-04-10 of the North Dakota Century Code, increasing the fees associated with various registrations and renewals. Specifically, the fees for broker-dealers, agents, investment advisers, and investment adviser representatives are raised, with broker-dealer fees increasing from $200 to $240, agent fees from $60 to $75, investment adviser fees from $100 to $120, and investment adviser representative fees from $50 to $60. This amendment aims to update the fee structure to better reflect current market conditions.
