1 A BILL for an Act to create and enact a new section to chapter 19-24.1 of the North Dakota
2 Century Code, relating to the self-certification of an individual sixty-five years of age or older for
3 the medical use of marijuana.
4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
5 SECTION 1. A new section to chapter 19-24.1 of the North Dakota Century Code is created
6 and enacted as follows:
7 Qualifying patients - Senior.
8 In lieu of the written certification required under section 19-24.1-03, an individual sixty-five
9 years of age or older may submit to the department a form developed by the department
10 identifying a diagnosis of a qualifying debilitating medical condition and such other information
11 as needed to establish eligibility. The department may use the form in place of a written
12 certification to approve or deny the application under section 19-24.1-05, or require additional
13 information including medical documentation or medical records. The department shall issue a
14 registry identification card within thirty calendar days of approving an application under this
15 section.
