1 A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact section 39-08-05 of the North Dakota Century Code,
2 relating to crashes involving damage to property; and to provide a penalty.
3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
4 SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. Section 39-08-05 of the North Dakota Century Code is
5 amended and reenacted as follows:
6 39-08-05. Crashes involving damage to vehicleproperty - Penalty.
7 The driver of any vehicle involved in a crash resulting only in property damage to the
8 driver's vehicle or any other, another vehicle, domesticated animal, or any other fixed object on
9 public or private property, shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the crash or as
10 close to the scene of the crash as possible but shall return to and remain at the scene of the
11 crash until the driver has fulfilled the requirements of section 39-08-06 and 39-08-09. Every
12 such stop must be made without obstructing traffic more than is necessary. Any person failing to
13 stop or comply with the requirements in this section is guilty of a class B misdemeanor.
