1 A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact subsection 5 of section 4.1-20-18 of the North Dakota
2 Century Code, relating to compensation for soil conservation district board members.
3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
4 SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. Subsection 5 of section 4.1-20-18 of the North Dakota Century
5 Code is amended and reenacted as follows:
6 5. a. Upon a majority vote of the supervisors, the supervisors of a soil conservation
7 district are entitled to receive compensation of up to sixty-two dollars and fifty
8 cents for attending each regular or special meeting or for attending other
9 meetings or events in the performance of their official duties. Supervisors of soil
10 conservation districts are entitled to receive travel and subsistence expenses
11 necessarily incurred in attending district, state, or other meetings. The
12 compensation and all other expenses including travel incurred by district
13 supervisors while transacting district business must be paid from district
14 fundswhile performing duties as a member, the soil conservation district board
15 shall provide to each member:
16 (1) Compensation of at least seventy-five dollars per day but not more than the
17 rate set for a member of the legislative assembly under section 54-03-20;
18 (2) An allowance for meals and lodging at the rate set in section 44-08-04; and
19 (3) Mileage and travel expenses at the rate set in section 54-06-09.
20 b. All compensation and expenses under this subsection must be paid from district
21 funds.
