1 A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact section 23-02.1-02 of the North Dakota Century Code,
2 relating to the hours of operation of the office of statistical services; and to declare an
3 emergency.
4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
5 SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. Section 23-02.1-02 of the North Dakota Century Code is
6 amended and reenacted as follows:
7 23-02.1-02. Office of statistical services.
8 There is hereby established in the department of health and human services an office of
9 statistical services whichthat shall install, maintain, and operate a system of health statistics
10 tabulation and analysis and a system of vital records registration throughout the state. The
11 executive director of the department of health and human services or designee may create
12 within the office of statistical services such working divisions as may be necessary to comply
13 with the provisions of this chapter and shall appoint the directors of such divisions in
14 accordance with the merit system laws and regulations of the state of North Dakota. The office
15 of statistical services shall maintain an office at the capitol which is open to the public at least
16 four days per week in order for members of the public to make in-person requests of and
17 receive requested vital records. The office shall publish the hours the office is open to members
18 of the public.
19 SECTION 2. EMERGENCY. This Act is declared to be an emergency measure.
