1 A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact subsection 3 of section 15-19-01 and section
2 15.1-22-01 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to services provided by the center for
3 distance education.
4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
5 SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. Subsection 3 of section 15-19-01 of the North Dakota Century
6 Code is amended and reenacted as follows:
7 3. The center for distance education may provide services to persons who are not North
8 Dakota residents, including entering an agreement with a regionally accredited
9 postsecondary institution to provide high school and postsecondary credit for the
10 completion of an academic course.
11 SECTION 2. AMENDMENT. Section 15.1-22-01 of the North Dakota Century Code is
12 amended and reenacted as follows:
13 15.1-22-01. Kindergarten - Establishment by board - Request by parent.
14 The board of a school district shall either provide:
15 1. Provide at least a half-day kindergarten program for any student enrolled in the district
16 or pay; or
17 2. Pay the tuition required for the student to attend a kindergarten program in another
18 school district or through the center for distance education.
