1 A BILL for an Act to provide an appropriation for defraying the expenses of the office of the
2 governor; and to provide for a report.
3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
4 SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION. The funds provided in this section, or so much of the funds
5 as may be necessary, are appropriated out of any moneys in the general fund in the state
6 treasury, not otherwise appropriated, to the office of the governor for the purpose of defraying
7 the expenses of the office of the governor, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2023, and ending
8 June 30, 2025, as follows:

20 SECTION 2. ADDITIONAL INCOME - APPROPRIATION - GOVERNOR'S OFFICE -
21 BUDGET SECTION REPORT. Subject to the limitations of this section, in addition to the
22 amounts appropriated in section 1 of this Act, there is appropriated to the governor's office, any
23 additional income from other funds, excluding federal funds, which may become available to the
24 governor's office, for the period beginning July 1, 2023, and ending June 30, 2025. Any other

1 funds received under this section must be used for the specific purpose intended for the funds
2 or transferred to the appropriate state agency or institution. Upon the receipt of other funds
3 under this section, the governor's office shall provide a report to the budget section regarding
4 the source, amount, and purpose of the funds received. The governor's office may not expend
5 other funds under this section if the amount of funds received from a source exceeds $150,000,
6 but may seek emergency commission and budget section authorization under chapter 54-16.
7 Federal funds which may become available to the governor's office may be accepted by the
8 governor's office. Federal funds accepted by the governor's office may not be spent until
9 authorization is received from the legislative assembly or from the emergency commission and
10 budget section under chapter 54-16.
