1 A JOINT RESOLUTION ADJOURNING THE SESSION RECONVENED PURSUANT TO
2 RESOLUTION 2024-2 AND AMENDING RESOLUTION 2024-2.
3 Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
4 SECTION 1. When the Senate and the House of Representatives jointly adjourn on
5 the date this resolution is ratified, they stand adjourned to reconvene as provided in Resolution
6 2024-2, as amended by this resolution.
7 SECTION 2. Resolution 2024-2 reads as rewritten:

9 "SECTION 3.(a) When the House of Representatives and the Senate adjourn on Wednesday,
10 September 11, 2024, they stand adjourned to reconvene on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 12:00
11 noon.
12 "SECTION 3.(b) During the regular session that reconvenes on Wednesday, October 9,
13 2024, only the following matters may be considered:
14 (1) Bills returned by the Governor with his objections under Section 22 of Article
15 II of the North Carolina Constitution, but solely for the purpose of considering
16 overriding of the veto upon reconsideration of the bill.
17 (2) Bills providing for the selection, appointment, or confirmation as required by
18 law, including the filling of vacancies of positions for which the appointees
19 were elected by the General Assembly upon recommendation of the Speaker
20 of the House of Representatives, President of the Senate, President Pro
21 Tempore of the Senate, or a minority leader of a chamber of the General
22 Assembly.
23 (3) Bills providing for action on gubernatorial nominations or appointments.
24 (4) Bills responding to actions related to litigation challenging the legality of
25 legislative enactments.
26 (5) Any bills relating to election laws, including bills concerning the districts for
27 Congressional, State House, State Senate, judicial, municipal, county, and
28 other elected officials, and containing no other matters.
29 (6) Bills providing for impeachment pursuant to Article IV of the North Carolina
30 Constitution or Chapter 123 of the General Statutes.
31 (7) Simple resolutions addressing organizational matters of each respective
32 house.
33 (8) Adoption of conference reports.
34 (9) A joint resolution further adjourning the 2023 Regular Session, amending a
35 joint resolution adjourning the 2023 Regular Session, or adjourning the 2023
36 Regular Session, sine die.
