3 SIGNAGE REGARDING ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATES AND COSTS.
4 The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
5 SECTION 1. G.S. 136-18(1) reads as rewritten:
6 "(1) The authority and general supervision over all matters relating to the
7 construction, maintenance, and design of State transportation projects, letting
8 of contracts therefor, therefore, and the selection of materials to be used in the
9 construction of State transportation projects under the authority of this
10 Chapter. When letting contracts over thirty million dollars ($30,000,000), the
11 Board shall require the contractor to post signs visible to the public travelling
12 in the contract area, updated every quarter of the contract, indicating the
13 estimated completion date, the estimated cost, and whether those items are in
14 accordance with the contract terms. The signage shall be color coded with
15 green for on time or under and on budget or under, red for more than three
16 months' delay or more than ten percent (10%) over budget, and yellow for
17 in-between green and red."
18 SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2023, and applies to all contracts
19 entered into or renewed on or after that date.
