2 AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE FEDERAL NOTARIES TO ACT IN THIS STATE.
3 The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
4 SECTION 1. G.S. 10B-5(a) reads as rewritten:
5 "(a) Except as provided in subsection (d) of this section, the Secretary shall commission
6 as a notary any qualified person who submits an application in accordance with this Chapter.
7 Notarial acts performed by a person with the general powers of a notary public pursuant to 10
8 U.S.C. § 1044a shall be treated as notarial acts by a person commissioned as a notary under this
9 Chapter."
10 SECTION 2. This act is effective when it becomes law.
