4 PROPERTY AND PROPERTY LEASED BY THE COUNTY.
5 The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
6 SECTION 1. G.S. 153A-170 reads as rewritten:
7 "§ 153A-170. Regulation of parking on county property.
8 A county may by ordinance regulate parking of motor vehicles on county-owned property.
9 property or property leased by the county. Such an ordinance may be enforced pursuant to
10 G.S. 153A-123. In addition, the ordinance may provide that vehicles parked in violation thereof
11 may be immobilized by use of wheel locks or other similar devices or removed from the property
12 by the county or an agent of the county to a storage area or garage. If a vehicle is so immobilized
13 or removed, the owner, as a condition of regaining possession of the vehicle, shall be required to
14 pay to the county all reasonable costs incidental to the removal and storage of the vehicle and
15 any fine or penalty due for the violation."
16 SECTION 2. This act applies only to Union County.
17 SECTION 3. This act is effective when it becomes law.
