3 WITH GOORU, INC., FOR USE OF THEIR GOORU NAVIGATOR PROGRAM TO
4 ADDRESS NEGATIVE EDUCATIONAL IMPACTS OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
5 The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
6 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, the Department
7 of Public Instruction shall use funds provided pursuant to Section 3.5(a)(10) of S.L. 2021-25, as
8 amended by S.L. 2021-180, to contract with Gooru, Inc., for a period of up to three years for the
9 software program Gooru Navigator, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, to evaluate and
10 improve student learning and performance and to provide students with an individualized
11 roadmap for improving learning and performance.
12 SECTION 2. This act is effective when it becomes law.
