This bill amends Sections 17-7-502 and 33-22-1321 of the Montana Code Annotated (MCA) to establish a statutory appropriation for reinsurance association member assessments. Specifically, it inserts language that designates the funds in the reinsurance program account as statutorily appropriated to the commissioner for the purposes outlined in the bill. The reinsurance program account will receive all assessments collected under 33-22-1313, along with any interest, income, or other funds accepted for the account's benefit. The funds can only be used for the administration, operation, and claims expenses of the reinsurance program.

Additionally, the bill includes a provision that if both this act and House Bill No. 2 are passed, the appropriations to the commissioner for Montana reinsurance association member assessments in House Bill No. 2 will be void. The act is set to take effect immediately upon passage and approval, with a termination date of June 30, 2031.
