House Bill No. introduced by J. Schillinger establishes a provider training grant program specifically aimed at enhancing nonmedication therapies for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The program will be administered by the Department of Labor and Industry, which will award grants to selected entities to develop and operate a two-year project focused on training mental health professionals. The grantees will be required to engage with the community and stakeholders during the planning phase, provide training, and report on project outcomes quarterly, including the number of professionals trained and associated costs.

The bill also includes an appropriation of $600,000 from the state general fund for the biennium beginning July 1, 2025, to support the grant program. This funding is intended as a one-time-only appropriation. Additionally, the act is set to take effect on July 1, 2025.
