This bill revises the license fees associated with migratory game birds and introduces new fees for sandhill crane and swan applications and licenses. Specifically, it amends Section 87-2-113 to include application fees for sandhill cranes and swans, setting the fees at $10 for residents and $50 for nonresidents for both species. Additionally, the bill amends Section 87-2-411 to adjust the migratory game bird license fee for residents from $5.50 to $10 and establishes separate fees for sandhill crane and swan licenses, also set at $10 for residents and $75 for nonresidents.

Furthermore, the bill stipulates that funds generated from the sale of sandhill crane and swan licenses will be deposited into a special revenue account for the Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Parks, which can only be used for the protection, conservation, and development of wetlands in Montana. The effective date for these changes is set for March 1, 2026.
