HB 3536 -- EXTENDED SENTENCES FOR PRIOR CRIMINAL CONDUCT

SPONSOR: Christ

Currently, a court can sentence a person to an extended term of imprisonment under certain circumstances, such as when a defendant is a persistent or dangerous offender and has been found guilty of a class B, C, D, or E felony or when there exists a sentence enhancement statute for which the enhancement is related to a prior finding of guilt or prior criminal conduct. This bill requires the court to sentence the person to an extended term of imprisonment under these circumstances.
