HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 4130 103RD GENERAL ASSEMBLY INTRODUCED BY REPRESENTATIVE VEIT.

WHEREAS, the General Assembly deems it worthy to support and encourage any 2 programs that exist to provide Missouri's senior citizens with an opportunity to utilize their 3 experience and knowledge in a positive and meaningful way; and 4 5 WHEREAS, the General Assembly also deems it worthy to support programs that are 6 designed to provide participants with opportunities to develop better citizenship and 7 leadership qualities; and 8 9 WHEREAS, the Silver Haired Legislature is a program that helps ensure senior 10 citizens have a voice in state government while giving its participants a unique insight into the 11 legislative process; and 12 13 WHEREAS, the General Assembly has a long tradition of granting the use of its 14 Chambers to such programs: 15 16 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that we, the members of the Missouri 17 House of Representatives, One Hundred Third General Assembly, hereby grant the 18 participants of the Silver Haired Legislature permission to use the House Chamber for the 19 purpose of their regular session on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 20 p.m.; and 21 22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sponsor of this House Resolution, 23 Representative Rudy Veit, or his designee, shall be present in the House Chamber and shall 24 assume responsibility for the group's actions for the duration of the aforementioned event. 25 26 Special note: Participants in the aforementioned event shall conduct themselves in a manner 27 that preserves the dignity and honor of the House of Representatives. Such persons shall 28 behave respectfully and dress appropriately for the occasion. Food items, drinks, and HR 4130 2

29 smoking are prohibited on the floor of the House and lower gallery, and participants shall 30 refrain from any conduct that diminishes the decorum of the House Chamber. 31 Access to the dais is limited to the Speaker's podium for purposes of using the 32 microphone to speak to those assembled. Access to the staff area behind the rostrum is 33 prohibited. 34 Group photographs; the hanging of any banners or other items on the walls, curtains, 35 or any surface within the House Chamber; and the use of any equipment, including 36 computers, phones, or other items on the dais and rostrum area, are also prohibited. ✔
