Currently, 75% of the municipal tourism tax collected must be deposited in an infrastructure account within the Tourism Tax Trust Fund, and these moneys must be used solely for constructing and maintaining certain infrastructure improvements. This bill requires the moneys in this infrastructure account to also be used to construct and maintain "tourism infrastructure facilities", as defined in the bill. These moneys in the infrastructure account may also be used for the construction and maintenance of structures, trails, and other facilities that are meant to promote tourism.
