HB 2834 -- VOTER QUALIFICATIONS

Currently, a person on probation or parole for a felony conviction is not entitled to vote until finally discharged from probation or parole.

This bill allows a person on probation or parole to vote, unless the person was convicted of a felony or misdemeanor connected with the right of suffrage.

Currently, a person confined under a sentence of imprisonment is not entitled to vote. This bill allows a person to vote while confined under a sentence of imprisonment for a misdemeanor.

This bill is similar to HB 790 (2025) and HB 1927 (2024).
