SPONSOR: Murray
This bill requires the Governor to call a special election to fill a vacancy in the General Assembly within seven days of being notified of the vacancy, unless the vacancy occurs after the 40th Tuesday before the end of the term for that office.
This bill is similar to HB 899 (2025) and HB 2136 (2024).
