COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "Do Pass" by the Special Committee on Tourism by a vote of 12-0.
This bill designates the bridge on State Highway CC crossing over Interstate 44 in Webster County as the "Dr Tommy Macdonnell Memorial Bridge". The Department of Transportation will erect and maintain the signs, with the costs paid by the Department in recognition of the honoree's Silver Star Award.
PROPONENTS: Supporters say that Dr. Tommy Macdonnell was a soldier who received two purple hearts and a silver star. Dr. Tommy Macdonnell fought in both the Battle of Omaha Beach and the Battle of the Bulge. Dr. Tommy Macdonnell deserves recognition for everything he did for our country.
