HB 2477 -- MORATORIUM ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF SOLAR PROJECTS

This bill establishes an immediate moratorium be placed on the construction of new and current solar projects in the State beginning the effective date of the provisions. The Department of Natural Resources must promulgate rules concerning environmental issues with respect to the construction, placement, and operation of a solar project. The moratorium ends on December 31, 2027. However, if the department does not promulgate the rules before the expiration, the moratorium will continue until such rules have been promulgated. This bill contains an emergency clause.

This bill is similar to SB 849 (2026).
