HB 2413 -- LONG-TERM CARE FACILITIES

SPONSOR: Van Schoiack

Currently, a long-term care facility requires each resident to have a physical examination conducted by a physician when he or she is admitted. This bill provides that an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) or physician assistant can conduct the physical examination in lieu of the physician.

Additionally, this bill allows for the administration of subcutaneous injectable medications ordered by a physician in a long-term care facility.
