Currently, certain cities, counties, and political subdivisions may impose a sales tax on the sale of metered water services, electricity, electrical current and natural, artificial or propane gas, wood, coal, or home heating oil that is only for domestic use.
This bill eliminates such sales taxes on these local utility services that are only for domestic use beginning August 28, 2026.
