HB 2376 -- SOLICITATION ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY OR IN A PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY

This bill creates the criminal offense of solicitation on an interstate highway or public right-of-way. A person commits the offense if he or she intentionally solicits, begs, panhandles, or otherwise requests anything of value, as defined in the bill, on any interstate highway, public right-of-way, or entrance or exit ramp of an interstate highway.

The offense is a Class B misdemeanor. The provisions of this bill does not apply to any organization authorized to solicit for a charitable contribution.
