Currently, a person found guilty of a first intoxication-related traffic offense may be required by a court to have a certified ignition interlock device installed on his or her car for at least six months. A person found guilty of a second or subsequent intoxication-related traffic offense will be required by the court to do so. This bill provides that any person found guilty of an intoxication-related traffic offense will be required to have a certified ignition interlock device installed on his or her car for at least six months.
