This bill adds the duty of restoring and monumenting the centerline geometry of all railroad rights of ways within the State that have been abandoned by the U.S. Surface Transportation Board or previously by the United States Interstate Commerce Commission to the duties of the Department of Agriculture by no later than December 31, 2046. In order to plan, execute, and complete new projects, the Department of Agriculture may enter into contracts with registered land surveyors or professional engineers.
This bill is the similar to HB 1318 (2025).
