This bill adds a non-expired student ID card issued by a Missouri high school or institution of higher education to the list of acceptable identification required to vote.
The bill also specifies that any student entitled to vote at any election in this state will be granted three hours on election day to leave school in order to do so.
Students who leave school to vote will not be liable to any disciplinary action provided that they made a request for leave prior to the date of the election. The school may designate any three hours of the school day on election day during which students are allowed to leave to vote.
Each school district must adopt and implement a written policy relating to absences for voting.
This bill is similar to HB 308 (2025) and HB 2538 (2024).
