FIREARMS ON PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Current law prohibits a person from boarding a bus with a dangerous or deadly weapon and from carrying such a weapon into any bus terminal. In addition, weapons may not be carried on any facility or conveyance used for a public transportation system of the Bi-State Development Agency.
This act provides that a person carrying a concealed firearm who possesses a valid concealed carry permit or endorsement shall not be prohibited from accessing or using any public transportation system. The person may not be harassed or detained for carrying a concealed firearm on the property, vehicles, or conveyances owned, contracted, or leased by such systems that are accessible to the public. These provisions are identical to provisions in SS/SB 77 (2025), HB 1214 (2025), SB 1166 (2024), SB 224 (2023), HB 282 (2023), and HB 1462 (2022), is substantially similar to provisions in SCS/HCS/HB 328 (2025), and is similar to provisions in SB 804 (2022).
CARRYING OF WEAPONS BY ATTORNEY GENERAL AND STAFF
This act adds the Attorney General and staff of the Attorney General to an exception to the offense of unlawful use of a weapon. (Section 571.030)
This provision is identical to a provision in SS/SB 77 (2025) and is substantially similar to a provision in SCS/HCS/HB 328 (2025).
