Missouri statute states that it is the current public policy of this State to recognize marriage only between a man and a woman, and that marriage between persons of the same sex are not recognized even when valid where contracted. This bill repeals this provision, found to be unconstitutional in Obergefell v. Hodges.
This bill is similar to HB 1459 (2025).
