This bill eliminates the one-week waiting period in the determination of unemployment compensation benefits for a claim filed on or after January 1, 2027, with the Division of Employment Security within the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations. The one-week waiting period has similarly been eliminated for any new shared work benefits filed on or after January 1, 2027.
To receive the one-week of unemployment compensation benefits or shared work benefits, a claimant must meet all other eligibility requirements.
This bill is similar to HB 1381 (2025).
