This bill requires a memorandum of understanding between a Federal law enforcement agency and a sheriff's department before the Federal law enforcement agency can provide assistance to the sheriff's department. The sheriff or chief law enforcement agent is authorized to negotiate the term of the memorandum, and the memorandum will be signed by the sheriff or chief law enforcement agent and the Director of Public Safety.
