DOWNTOWN AND RURAL ECONOMIC STIMULUS ACT
Current law authorizes cities and counties to establish an authority to be known as a "Downtown Economic Stimulus Authority" for the purpose of financing development projects in downtown areas, with no new applications to be approved after January 1, 2013. This act provides that no new applications shall be approved after January 1, 2031. (Section 99.975)
DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION PRESERVATION PROGRAM
Current law authorizes certain municipalities to undertake redevelopment projects in downtown central business district areas, with "municipality" defined as any city or county with fewer than 200,000 inhabitants. This act modifies the definition of "municipality" to include any city or county with fewer than 250,000 inhabitants. (Section 99.1082)
