This bill establishes the "Missouri Four For More Program" to allow parents, legal guardians, and step-parents of school children in grades K-12 to receive four hours of paid leave per month to work with their children in their children's school. The program is optional.
Each person participating will receive a written statement from the school district indicating that the person has spent four hours in the school working with his or her child. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education will administer the program.
Beginning January 2, 2026, each qualified employer participating in the program will be allowed to claim a tax credit. An employer cannot claim more than the qualified amount, not to exceed four hours per month for each participant.
The tax credit sunsets December 31st, six years after the effective date.
