This bill defines the terms "Construction materials", "Interstate system", and "Raw materials".
This bill allows vehicles transporting construction materials from the site of their production to the site of a construction project, or transporting raw materials from their point of origin to a site at which construction materials are produced, to exceed the weight limits specified in Section 304.180 by up to 10% as long as the vehicle is not exceeding the gross weight rating for the vehicle and is safe to drive with the excess weight, as specified in the bill.
The bill does not apply to the interstate highway system. Vehicles operating at an excess weight cannot drive over a bridge with a posted weight limit lower than the vehicle's gross vehicle weight and a vehicle operated on a bridge or other structure with a posted weight limit must not travel at a speed greater than 30 miles per hour.
This bill is the same as SB 736(2025).
