AN ACT To amend chapter 10, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the official state dish.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 10, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be 2 known as section 10.249, to read as follows: 10.249. Springfield-style cashew chicken is selected for and shall be known as the 2 official dish for the state of Missouri. Springfield-style cashew chicken, in which the 3 chicken is deep fried, was invented in 1963 in Springfield, Missouri, by chef David 4 Leong. An immigrant from China, Leong sought to make his native dishes more 5 appealing to locals. Springfield-style cashew chicken is now served in more than seventy 6 restaurants in the Springfield area. ✔
