This bill establishes the "Promoting a Return to Work Act of 2025". Beginning January 1, 2026, to be eligible to receive unemployment compensation benefits for any week, a claimant is required to complete at least four work search activities during the week for which claimant applies for benefits.
Under the bill, the activities that qualify as acceptable work search activities are submitting a resume to an employer; submitting a job application to an employer; attending and completing an interview with an employer; attending a job fair; or participating in job skill training.
This bill grants rule making authority to the Division of Employment Security within the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.
